Registering domain names.
Registering a domain name is easy. All you need to do is go to a site
where they register domains, find an unused name and put you credit card
details in. I have registered my surname as a domain name
bluett.com.
My simple explanation of domain names is here.
Free email forwarding and POP3 addresses are available from a number of
providers, so you don't need your own domain name for this. See the email
section of my broadband page for listings.

Buying and selling domain names - greatdomains.com
You can buy and sell domains at many sites. The site greatdomains.com
is possibly the largest and shows the value of well-chosen domain names.
Note the hundreds of domain names people are uninterested in that no-one has bid on.
Also, greatdomains.com is affiliated to
register.com, the busiest domain name registration site in the world. If you have a domain name you
fancy, and it gets taken, then
register.com is the most likely place of
registration. Register.com
has a vested interest in bumping up the
perceived values of domain names, hence greatdomains.com.
