newb

help!

have AOL 9 Broadband on an XP. It pops up straight away ok. But when i want to work off-line it still pops up! Then i cancel it, then it pops up yet again!! How do i disable this programme's 'pop up' mode please? i was trying to edit a home video earlier this evening and AOL kept on crashing in on the project, freezing the edit programme and generally being a complete nuisance!

I'm with AOL, i bypass the aol software via my router, the software is somewhat of a memory hog
