if you are considering buying hardware to enable you to play Doom 3.
- Hardocp.com:
Official - The Official Doom 3 Hardware Guide looks at the game's
performance on a variety of hardware (the official min spec is Pentium 4 1.5
GHz or Athlon XP 1500+ with 384 MB RAM). They came to the conclusion
that 1.5GHz Pentium 4, 512MB of Corsair RAM, and a GeForce 4 MX 440 video
card is a realistic minimum.
- Hardocp.com: id Software's Official DOOM3 Benchmarks -
HardOCP come to the conclusion that the nVidia 6800 and Radeon X800 are
ideal chips for Doom 3 . GeForceFX 5950 and Radeon 9800XT also offer
very good performance (see the graphics cards page).

Doom 3 Buyer's Guide - has advice on buying a Doom 3 Value System for as
little as $1000 (they are a US site). Anandtech also has a Doom
3 Graphics Deathmatch where they pick their favourite and highlight the
minimum spec graphics cards for this game.

graphics card purchases for this game, recommending a minimum Radeon 9600 XT
or FX5700 Ultra as minimum spec cards.
